Reebox Court Force

Though he never won any more Grand Slam single titles after, it was Michael Chang’s (张德培) spectacular debut on the clay courts of the 1989 French Open that has ingrained into people’s memory. After a grueling 5 hours and 26 minutes match-up against the then number 1 ranked player in the world, Ivan Lendl. Chang took the French Open championship and at age 17, became the youngest player to win a Grand Slam title.

Along with Chang’s sudden raise to fame was the pair of sneakers he wore, the Reebok Court Victory Pump. It quickly became the most sought after footwear, by both tennis players and non-players. On Friday, June 20th, Reebok will release the latest version of Court Victory Pump, in flashy colorways of orange and turquoise. The release will be limited to selected boutiques, including XLARGE flagship stores in Harajuku and Osaka.
